Why I Am Proud of the Dungannon Community
By: Michelle Bowen

Dungannon is a good place to live. There are a variety of things to do. There is natural beauty and activities to go along with the beauty. The major event is the Fourth of July parade.
Dungannon is in Southwest Virginia where there is a lot of beauty. The trees and mountains overlook the town. A lot of people move to Dungannon because of the natural beauty is possesses. The mountains are beautiful. They are covered in trees that are red, orange, green and sometimes yellow.
There are a lot of nature activities to do in the mountains of Dungannon. Jefferson National Park is a good place to go in Dungannon. You can hike, fish or hunt. When I go to Jefferson Natural Park, I like to hike. I see beautiful trees, waterfalls and animals.
The major event in Dungannon is the Fourth of July parade. The people gather up and down the streets to have a good time. They usually have horses, fire trucks and old muscle cars in the parade. At the end they have a fireworks show. It is beautiful. People in the parade wear red, white and blue. They also carry flags.
I like Dungannon because it is fun for your family. There is a natural beauty, nature activities and parades. It is a small town where everybody has fun.
