Dungannon Development Commission, Inc.(DDC) was among five organization to receive up to $3,000 in grant moines that were administered by the Center for Disease Control. The Commission applied for the grant to promote awareness and educate citizens on the Nations Number One Killer which is Cardiovascular Disease.The competitive grants were made possible by the Virginia Cardiovascular Health Project's Lenowisco Health District Cardiovascular Program. The Dungannon Development Commission's plans to cooperate with the town government to use the grant to construct an additional lighted walking trail behind the Dungannon Depot and erect an education kiosk that will provide residents with information concerning "heart health'' and other cardiovascular information. DDC wants to enhance the trail opportunities for our residents. DDC plans to organize such healthy activities as walkathons and bikeathons
